Membership at First Presbyterian Church of Palm Bay

First Presbyterian Church seeks to be a witness for Christ in the community and in the world. We cordially invite you to become a part of this community of people celebrating God’s love given in Christ and actively seeking to share that love by word and deed.

The only requirements for membership in the Presbyterian Church are profession in the Lordship of Christ Jesus and Christian Baptism.

We want to help you grow in loving Jesus Christ as Christ has loved you, and to help you serve Christ through the church which Christ has called into being. As the Body of Christ, we are called to share the love of Christ with one another and with the world around us.

If you would like to join our church family, you may do so by speaking with our Interim Pastor, Timothy Yoon, speaking to any Elder or by calling the church office. Persons are received into church membership by the governing body (Session). The Pastor will schedule a special meeting of the Session at a convenient time to receive new members into church membership.

You may join the Presbyterian Church in one of three ways:

1.      Profession of Faith: Individuals who have not previously confessed their faith in Jesus Christ are asked to affirm their belief in Christ as Savior and Lord. Those not previously baptized will receive the Sacrament of Baptism.

2.      Transfer of Church Letter: If you are a member in good standing of any Christian church, you will be received into pour membership by transfer of your church letter. We will send for your letter upon your request. We accept all forms of Christian Baptism.

3.      Reaffirmation of Faith: Those who have been inactive and wish to make a fresh beginning in the Christian life, or those who come from churches that will not grant letters of transfer, may be received on reaffirmation of faith.
